Hot Dog Theater is a theater performance group providing
children in our community quality entertainment and exposure to
performing arts.
Hot Dog Theater is “participation theater” where
kids become actors in the show. The ticket price includes a hot
dog lunch and entertainment
for the whole family. In addition, a “souvenir” shop
is available where kids can purchase mementos from their theater
experience.
Photos with the cast are also available for a small fee.
The mission of Hot Dog Theater is to produce high-quality
live theater, classes, performance opportunities, and other creative
theater activities. We seek to broaden horizons, promote greater
understanding, and stimulate creativity.
We are dedicated to developing
an appreciation for the art of live theater among the residents
of Baton Rouge by involving as large
a constituency as possible in a rich variety of programming. Through
this, we provide a means for families to connect with each other
and interact in a positive, fun, and entertaining environment.
We
seek to use theater as a means of community service, to help in
the development of life skills in children, particularly those
who
might not otherwise be exposed to theater, through participation
in the performing arts.
Through theater, which invites, even
demands, interaction with its audience, our goal is to fire the
imagination. We strive
to make
theater exhilarating, inspirational, and accessible to all.
